Sustainability:
- The structures are all built with wood, raised at an average height of 1m80 above sea level to respect the natural landscape and not affect the drainage. This also allows to naturally ventilate the bungalows, which means less insects and therefore less repellents. This elevation, the conservation of the natural landscape and vegetation and the eco-aware lighting respects the turtle nesting
- The hotel is entirely solar powered thanks to 128 solar panels (production of 30 kWc) and equipped with the only cooling system (Evening Breeze) compatible with solar power
- Have installed a sewage treatment for waste-water and have water gutters to use the rain water for the garden. Also have wells with a reverse osmosis system for the water public use. They encourage guests to reduce water consumption by not automatically changing the linens. Laundromat is located in town to prevent the use of chemical on site.
Community interactions:
- Favouring local produces and fishermen while buying responsibly seafood (respecting fishing season, size and species)
- Offering its guests different means of transportation to explore the surrounding trails such as electric cars or bicycles. All of activities offered at the hotel are non-motorized in order not to disturb the wildlife
- Barbuda Belle is located in Codrington National Park and therefore activities are nature oriented and guides educate both: local people and clients about wildlife protection and marine conservation
